SEVILLE AT SUNSET
Would you like a different kind of visit to Seville at sunset?
Come with us! We will take you for a walk through some essential places in the historical centre of the city.
Do characters like Don Quixote and Sancho Panza sound familiar to you? Did you know that we have “giant mushrooms” in Seville?
These and other riddles will be solved by us during this exciting tour of Seville at sunset that we offer you below.
Starting point: Archivo de Indias
We start in front of the door of the Archivo de Indias, with the magnificent view of buildings as impressive as the Cathedral and the Alcazar, and we will enter the narrow streets of the old Jewish quarter of Seville.
We arrive at the Town Hall, a building that with its double facade divides the space in front of us into two completely different squares: Plaza Nueva and Plaza de San Francisco. The latter is next to streets with such curious names as Sierpes ( serpent ) and Entre Cárceles ( between prisons ), and is also close to the monument dedicated to the “Prince of the Wits”, who spent some time here. Do you know who we are talking about?
In the heart of the city
A few metres away, in one of the most popular squares among the Sevillians, stands the impressive Baroque facade of the Iglesia Colegial del Divino Salvador, a former mosque, and which gives its name to the square. Surrounding it, we enter narrow streets where traditional and modern commerce is mixed, and where you can buy anything from a flamenco dress to a wedding dress.
We continue in the heart of Seville, in the old town, and yet suddenly an immense and strange structure appears in front of us, bringing a touch of modernity and originality to the surroundings, the Metropol Parasol, which due to its appearance and the ingenuity of the Sevillians, has been renamed “las Setas” ( The mushrooms).
We end this tour with some indications on how you can continue to enjoy the night in Seville, as we are surrounded by bars and restaurants where you can dine, have a drink or simply continue walking.
As you can imagine, Seville has much more to see and offer.
Don’t hesitate! Count on us to continue discovering it together!
